The Singapore Paediatric Society (SPS) Logogram |
"The SPS logogram was first launched in 1979 in commemoration with the International Year of the Children. It was officially launched at the SPS Annual Dinner. The Guest of Honour was the then Senior Minister of State for Education Dr. Tony Tan Keng Yam (presently the Deputy Prime Minister of Singapore). Singapore’s well-known designer Mr. William Lee presented it to the Society as a gift. The 4 big dots on the ring signify the 4 major races in Singapore. Looking atop it represents 4 healthy children joined hands to form a circle at play. The ring and the dots encompass a cross that signifies safety and protection. These 4 dots representing the 4 seasons also signify the earth orbiting around the Sun; it depicts motion, liveliness and action.
The SPS logogram shows an outline of a rattler, a popular toy for a child."
